Just before Valentine’s Day clocked out last week, we got an email that Lalla had won the 2008 Valentine's Day contest on Cesar Millan’s Dogster Pack! This a real celebration for disabled dogs worldwide – we’re still pretty barkless and speechless. Lalla is now the official 2008 Valentine of Daddy, Cesar Millan’s gorgeous and aw, so sweet Pit Bull, who “… was smitten by the lovely lab Lalla”. Our girl is joined by the handsome American Pit Bull Terrier Nikkos, who is the official 2008 Valentine of the very pretty Staffordshire Bull Terrier Dottie, also a member of Cesar’s own pack. Nikkos and Lalla have earned the rescue group or shelter of their choice a grant from the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation, which celebrated its First Anniversary on Valentine’s Day. The national non-profit organization was founded to aid and support the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of abused and abandoned dogs. Cesar Millan, whom most of us know from his award winning TV show on National Geographic “The Dog Whisperer”, is considered by millions worldwide as the best and most influential dog trainer in the world today. His common-sense owner and dog education along the lines of “Exercise, Discipline and Affection” was applied by Lalla’s dog trainer, Claude when she was young (and your average run-a-mile-a-second, eat-and-chase-everything-in-sight Labrador puppy) and helped me no end after her amputation surgery, when we both had to adapt – and quickly – to a whole new life mode. This is a real celebration, and we are so grateful to the Millan Foundation for recognizing Lalla and her disabled friends all over the world. We’ll tell you more about how we applied Cesar’s method in our next post – right now we’re doing Lalla’s twirl, twirl, tummy rub dance for the fifth time today! Meanwhile, we recommend you sign up sign up for Cesar Millan’s monthly newsletter. Cheers to everyone and a big smooch for Daddy (who is smooching Cesar in the photo)!

Oh Lalla! I am so happy for you! And don't worry, I'm not jealous one bit. Congratulations!
